Anna Stoddard

Solicitor

Anna Stoddard is a senior solicitor admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in February 2022, practising exclusively in criminal and traffic law since her admission. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Newcastle, majoring in Politics and International Relations with Distinction, alongside a Bachelor of Laws and Diploma of Legal Practice, graduating with First Class Honours.

Anna has developed extensive experience representing clients across a broad spectrum of criminal and traffic matters. Her practice includes regular appearances in the Local and District Courts of New South Wales, where she advocates in sentencing proceedings, defended hearings, and a wide range of appeal matters.

Her experience includes acting in matters involving:

• Preparing and appearing in bail applications at all court levels
• Representing clients in sentencing proceedings in both summary and indictable jurisdictions
• Conducting defended hearings in the Local Court, including more involved and contested matters
• Advising and appearing in matters involving domestic violence and family violence, including applications for and challenges to apprehended violence orders
• Appearing in appellate matters, including licence appeals, conviction and severity appeals
• Representing clients in drug supply and possession offences, including more complex prosecutions
• White-collar and financially motivated crimes
• Applications under sections 14 and 19 of the Mental Health and Cognitive Impairment Forensic Provisions Act 2020 (NSW), particularly where mental health issues are relevant to the proceedings

Anna is known for her meticulous preparation and thoughtful advocacy.
